NATHAN TIMM, HEAD COACH

Montgomery County FCA Area Director, Nathan Timm, started running cross country and track during his time at Marion High School in Marion, Illinois. He went on to run cross country and track at Florida State University. Nathan came to know Christ through FCA during his freshman year. After graduating from Florida State in 2004, Timm started teaching English and coaching at Magruder High School. During his nine year tenure at Magruder, the Colonels set over 90 school records in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. Several of his athletes went on to compete at the collegiate level. In the fall of 2013, he started teaching and coaching at Parkland Magnet Middle School where he was an English teacher, cross country coach, and one of the FCA Huddle Coaches. In May of 2014, he came on staff as a part-time Area Representative for FCA Endurance.

After eleven years of teaching and coaching in the spring of 2015, Nathan felt a strong call to come on staff full-time. He now serves as the area director for the Montgomery County Fellowship of Christian Athletes. FCA has changed Nathan’s life in many ways, but most importantly helped him grown in his relationship with Christ. He has a passion to share the love of Christ with the coaches and athletes of Montgomery County through the ministry of FCA.

Nathan and his wife Lisa reside in Montgomery Village with their two sons; Brady and Josiah. You can reach Nathan at 240-694-5428 or ntimm@fca.org.

DAVID WALDROUP, CAMP SPEAKER

David was raised in the Metro-Atlanta area for most of his life. He grew up playing baseball, basketball and football through most of his teenage years. David is a sports fanatic and believes that sports can be one of the greatest avenues to connecting people to Christ. When he was 15 years old he felt God calling him to a career in full-time youth ministry and served as an intern at 2 different churches before pursuing a degree in Christian Leadership from Lee University in Cleveland, TN. While attending school at Lee, he served as a Middle School Pastor for 2 years. In the summer of 2013, David moved from Georgia to Maryland to serve as the Next Generation Pastor of GO Church, and has been overseeing the spiritual development of students and children since October 2013. David’s God-given passion to not only disciple students within the church, but to also see teenage students encounter the love of Christ within the context of their schools and sports teams, led him to the ministry of FCA.

JASON MABE, Assistant Coach

Jason got certified in personal training after finishing my degree in Exercise Sports Science at Elon University in 2004. He continued to grow in the fitness world with certifications and specialties including an associate’s degree from Garrett College in Adventure Sports and a master’s degree in Sports Management from Liberty University. Throughout this time, he was exploring the world of endurance sports by competing in 5k’s, triathlons, and adventure races. Several years ago after his wife, Marie, and he moved back to Maryland, they began actively looking for a church to call home and help them grow our faith. They have now been members of Cedarbrook Community Church for four years. It was during this time that he discovered a deeper relationship with Christ and FCA Endurance. Jason has now been racing and volunteering for FCA Endurance for the past two years and have found something new and exciting to compete for: Jesus Christ!

His original goal when he graduated from Liberty University was to open my own fitness studio. He now knows that God has led him right where he am supposed to be! Jason's time is focused on being a stay at home father to his 2 year old son, Toby, and his newbown daugther, Brook, and as a part time representative for Montgomery County FCA Endurance as a light for Christ in the endurance community.
